About me

I’m Beatriz Herrera, an artist, illustrator, entrepreneur, and passionate outdoor sketcher, based in Göttingen, Germany. I’m creating tiny treasures, crafting artistic memories, and turning science into visuals.

Turning science into visuals

I’m a co-founder of Visuals in Science LAB, where I combine my research experience with my passion for illustration and science to communicate complex ideas through graphic representation. We help researchers and professionals in academic institutions, public organizations, and research companies to communicate their ideas through attractive, insightful, and accurate visuals, increasing the reach and resonance of their projects, innovations, and findings.

For me, visuals are essential for effective scientific communication and should be an integral part of it, contributing to the correct understanding and interpretation of scientific knowledge.

Artistic Journey

On the other side, there are days when I would go from subject to subject, finding beauty everywhere and in every creature. On those days, when everything inspires me when my subjects and motifs find me yearning to be painted, I would paint and paint without wanting to stop. I document the evolving beauty and diversity of my surroundings through a variety of expressive forms.

Other days, when I struggle against the feeling that everything is useless, I realize that art sustains me and that in difficult times, we need the refuge of art more than ever.

Artwork

Primarily painted on location, my artwork captures the essence and diversity of people and places realistically. Moved by the surrounding beauty, whether familiar or novel, nature is my main studio and my greater source of inspiration.

My art is also driven by the desire to express my emotions and experiences and to connect with others. It is also a form of contemplation; for me, art has become a fundamental tool for healing, finding meaning, and giving back.

If you’re looking to bring a touch of nature, inspiration, and artistic beauty into your space, my artwork has something special for you. Whether it’s for your home, office, or a special gift, each piece is a transformation of life into contemplation, connection, and beauty.

You’ll find my artwork in a variety of formats, from delicate miniatures to expressive sketchbooks and striking larger pieces, suitable for different spaces and styles.
